It's alive! I'm still waiting on the sensor connector. Now UPS is saying it'll be here Tuesday instead of Monday. Bash

I finished the mounting block for the mini lathe tachometer. I replaced the plastic mount for the chuck guard that came with the lathe with an aluminum one that has a 1/4-20 tapped hole for mounting the tachometer bracket. The cavity in the plastic block housed a micro-switch to disable the motor driver when the chuck guard was not engaged. That's one of the first things I got rid of when I first got the lathe.

Mocked up the mounting scheme for the tachometer. Looks good so I can convert it into steel.  Big Grin

Got the magnets mounted for testing. I still need to make a holder/bracket for the Hall effect sensor.

Why bother?  It's not like it will be subject to much force.
Full of ideas, but slow to produce parts

Plastic threads don't work so well, in my experience.  Smiley-gen163

Just relocate the chuck shield to the other end of the headstock. Big Grin
