Unlikely. The guy that ran a stop sign in front of the wife and I (witnessed by several other drivers) didn't have a drivers license on him nor any proof of insurance. The cops determined he was an Uber driver and had to contact the company to get insurance info. Body shop estimate on my car was $2700 and their insurance wanted to give me $1050 and total my car!

I kept the car and I paid out of pocket for the repairs. The guy that hit us... didn't even get a single ticket. I just pray that Karma is real.

I sprained my ankle, bruised the other one, and have a small cut on my nose where my glasses bit me.  Other guy ran the light, and I never saw him coming.  His truck was toast, buckled in the middle and front end torn off.

That sucks man!   Glad you could at least limp away.   It’s a zombie world now a days with all the technology and Meth!     I had a freaking meth head hit us and flip or car about five years ago. We  were sore for along time, but okay.   The turd didn’t even a drivers license.    
      I hate seeing this.

At the insistence of the wife, I went to urgent care last night and got x-rays. No broken bones, just a bad sprain. I took the day off to stay off my feet.

Truck is at the repair shop now; we'll see what they say. I'm guessing total loss, but you never know.

I do know that time in the shop isn't going to happen for a while, and that is more frustrating than the accident.

Had a similar experience with my then brand new 2018 VW Jetta diesel. Hadn't even changed the oil.

BTW, did the airbags deploy? If so, it may be totaled.

Glad personal damage was minimal. One can always replace a vehicle. People are a different story.

No airbags deployed. He hit me right at the bumper/fender interface and spun me around 270 degrees.

A little duck tape should fix it right up.

Same as above, a little duck tape and you'll be fine.

When clamping a 6" x 6" x 1/4" steel plate in the band saw I noticed that the top of the movable jaw was tilting back at the top thus not clamping to the plate. This cause a lot of vibration so I had to abort the cut and see if I could fix the issue. Since the face that sits on the band saw base was fairly flat I used that as the reference face to put towards the fixed jaw on the mill. I had to take .030" off to get it flat. Then I measured the squareness and the reference surface was off just a bit so as long as I had the mill set up I decided to skim that face. Only needed to take off 5 thou.

I put the saw vise back together but the tilting was still there. I think the leadscrew nut on the band saw is moving when clamping the work piece in the vise.  
I'll need to look at that next. I took a break from working on that to clean up the cast iron swarf from the mill and vise.

Oh for wanting a forklift. Would have been finished in 30 minutes or less. Finally resorted to typical Philippine methods and just picked it up, all 500 KG. Fortunately I had some foresight and reinforced the floor joists prior to laying the flooring. Been sitting in its crate for 2 years. Just too much "stuff" to get done.

I'll further reinforce the floor with 19mm marine plywood.

BTW, who else gets to use rough sawn mahogany as cribbing?
