Installed a heat recovery air exchanger in the shop. A friend bought it 20 years ago when he built and never installed it. Hoping it will handle the dust and smoke I create. I've installed an extra air filter on the inlet, which I may spray with Pam to help catch the fines before they enter the air exchanger. The air exchanger in this one is aluminum and massive compared to the one I put in the house. Will be interesting to see how well it cleans the air. Too cold to have the doors open right now and in the hot humid weather I can't open the doors or I get condensation on all the machines.

Actually finished it a couple of weeks ago using some of the free steel tubing I acquired via dumpster diving. :)

Afternoon Lads   


I picked up my new to me ,wee drilling machine ,  A Arboga E-830  geared head drill  , 8 speed .




I had to lower the head to get it through the shop door (just)  , needs some TLC  ,nothing to drastic   , table is 400mm x 500mm , a 300mm throat  and a power feed 4MT spindle  .

Very nice Rob. The Arborga's are excellent heavy duty drills. Seem to remember that the gear set is in an oil bath.

I showed my wife how to use the bending rolls, so she could help me make a couple of arches out of 25x25mm sq. tubing.
These are to make an arch way in the garden.
I'm sure going to get a lot of brownie points for this - no idea what I will do with all of them but I'll think of something

That is a nice heavy duty drill press (not a jig borer).  Each & every Arboga machine I've seen has been an excellent example of fine engineering and craftsmanship as the Swedes over engineer their machine tools even more than the Germans.
