Do you do the finish on the furniture or the customer?

I usually do the finish but this time the lady said she wanted to give it a go. Can let it go for quite a bit less, the finishing is very time consuming. On a set of kitchen cabinets I'd easily spend a couple of weeks getting the finish I like.

So now that you have some extra time you can put a log on the firewood processor and make a video of the whole log getting turned into firewood! I know it gets tiresome with me always bumping you to get it done but I am really really interested in your project and you have a very practical approach to things that many people lack.

Okay, so I did this about a week and a half ago.  Took pics, and then promptly forgot about them.

Anyway, take a piece of aluminum (6061?) and turn the O.D. to size:

   
 
Part the pieces off:

   

And you get 4 center drilled discs:

   

Then you bore them out to get 4 shiny rings:

   

Next, do the same sort of thing with some aluminum rod, but drill and tap instead of bore out:

   

Face off the heads of a few bolts:

   

Take a strip of aluminum (painted, sheared to size at work) and drill/bore out a few holes:

   

Put it all together.  Anyone know what it is?  Okay, enough suspense (I know you guys all peeked anyway) so here it is:

   

   

It's a CoP (Coil on Plug) setup for my Miata.  Gives better spark to run more plug gap, for better burn.  More power, better mileage.  Most, if not all newer cars come from the factory this way.  Since my car is a bit older (1994), it's a good, fairly cheap upgrade.  It's also one of the initial steps to forced induction, which will be in the form of an Eaton supercharger, going in later this year.
