Todays Project - What did you do today?

Thanks, guys. Still lots of work to do on the shop, but it's nice to be able to use some of the stuff to get things back up and running. I have to admit, I was wondering if I'd still be interested in this stuff after being off for so long.

This Handle is coming out beautiful.
U think like a Custom Knifemaker.  Those cracks and imperfections are what enhances the final. Pity U did not think about or have Cutlers Bolts. They have bigger heads and really look slick.
But for this Handle - Yours is perfecto  !!!  We've also used Oz JARRAH, Oz  MALI,  and some others -  can't get the name of our most recent Oz OXWOOD or Meatwood ( something near there),  heck Man, will talk to the Guy again who gave it to us ???  Or ask  professori  Google  !!! Got it. BEEFWOOD. And ours has more lovely Book-matched Grain.
Reckon we should add this project to the list as well

Hi Arm - thank you. This is my first attempt at adding a wooden handle like this and I had no idea how to do it. I'll have to look up Cutlers bolts and keep them in mind for future projects. Perhaps Ed will use them when he does his.

I've seen the quality of work and craftsmanship on the knives you and your son's make, so I really do appreciate your kind words.

I've never heard of beefwood, so I will have to look that one up as well. I do love Jarrah though, the variation in grain and colour is extremely nice.

As some of the chemicals I need for a few projects have arrived this week (still waiting for a few more ) .



I decided to make a start on doing some electroless Nickel plating . So brewed up a small test bath . 




Whacked in a bit brass and steel for a quick test  .



Early results look promising .
