Had they sent me one I would have posted it. It seems as thought you and Tom are getting much better customer service than I am getting. I seem to get "only what is necessary" so I send them money. Arvid, I think the only reason they sent me the picture is because I told Sara that I wanted to see your mill before I ordered mine. That was probably her way of letting me see your mill. But, they certainly should have sent a picture to you. There is no excuse for that. I suspect my experience will be the same as yours once I send them some money. Ed

Ed - you should have posted the mill pic with the following text:
Arvid - $500 in small, unmarked bills or the mill gets it LOL Nice looking mill Arvid - should be fun when you get it. Did you order any tools/accessories? The reason I ask is I looked at their web site and there is nothing listed.

The reason I ask is I looked at their web site and there is nothing listed. I didn't order any accessories as Jenell did not suggest they had any to offer. It seems as thought Tom got a catalog or information about a plethora of accessories available for his lathe but nothing was suggested or offered when I ordered the mill. Heck just getting the specs and what was standard and what options were available for the mill itself was a challenge. Examples are the 1000mm table and the swivel table were not listed anywhere but were available when I asked about them, and the Z-Axis power feed is listed is standard on several catalog pages but is not available even as an option. And based on the picture the thought that "some disassembly will be required" has been confirmed. Based on the 1000m width of the table plus the power feed on one end and the handles on the other cpmpared with the width of the basement door I see a violation of some quantum physics two objects, same time, same space law or another. You have to really dig to find anything on their web site. Here's a link to some of the accessories they sell. Look towards the bottom of the page. http://timeway.diytrade.com/sdp/1166049/...cts-3.html Try as I may, I cannot find any mention of the mill Arvid is getting, the MD300H. You have to know the link to the information otherwise you're out of luck. Even when I tried searching on "MD300" the response from their search engine was, and I quote, "NO!". A hell of a way to treat potential customers. Hopefully their product is better than their customer service, otherwise it won't be pretty. Ed

For those that are playing along at home, I have paperwork that indicates my mill was shipped on March 15th, scheduled to arrive in LA on March 30th. It then suggests it needs to go to Chicago, and eventually to Minneapolis, but no dates were given.
According to Sara the crate is 1340 x 1220 x 2220mm and is 880kg. The mill itself is 1490 x 1220 x 2100mm and is 870 kg. I'd start my own thread for this adventure but that seems to be a bit self indulgent. |
