My first rifle build
#1
Started this a long time ago and just recently got interested in trying to finish it. Started from scratch with round stock I had laying around and a Marlin 880 barrel in 22lr.  Still got a couple metalworking issues to work out and a lot of wood to shape up.

Put the death grip on the walnut stock and whittled away on my little mini mill.  Mill sure did complain even with new carbide mills.

Blending wood and metal is always fun. :)

One word of advice: The bases of rimfire cartridges have been known to perforate with a firing pin, which results in hot gasses coming out the back and into your eye. An easy solution is to O-ring the firing pin, so if that happens, the gases will be arrested before they can ruin your day.
