Bending Question
#1
Hello all,

I have this piece of metal and wondering what the best way would be to bend it to a 3.5" or 3.75" rad. Went to a couple of small shops and they said they could hit it with a brake but that would just put a crease in it. Any suggestions so I sound more informed when I go to other shops? Or anyone on here interested in doing it. Its something I just want to do about a dozen for now so I can make a prototype of something then would be hopefully hundreds.

Here is the parthttp://www.sickleservice.com/205-006.html

Would help to know the thickness of the material.

So, in looking for the thickness answer I found that I can get it in 12 or 14 ga also if this helps. Would prefer the heaviest I can use but probably better done with "standard" sheet metal shop equipment.

Thanks again

Do you mean roll it 3.5 radius? bending in break terms means to fold, rolling means to form a circle

Roll...want to be able to weld it to a part with a 3.5 to 4" inside rad.

Also, this is not really precision work...just want to be able to hold it inside a part to weld it.
