You are all very kind.  Strictly a hobby.  The actual hobby is fixing up the old machines.  They come to me as boat anchor (pretty cheap) - it is rare that anything ever leaves the building.

Here is look into the hot mess I have going on at home. We are currently looking to buy some land or move into a place that has a barn/shop that I can exist in. The wifey is on my case about being able to park in the garage and with all the kids toys and my toys there is no room...

A couple of new pieces of equipment that I added at the end of last year.  Matt @ Precision Mathews came through again for me.  He worked with me on a Bailiegh BS-210M horizontal bandsaw and a Birmingham 18" vertical bandsaw.  


I lucked out and was able to sell my Wilton vertical and Jet horizontal bandsaws quick as I didn't have the room to hold onto them for very long.  The first guy that came to look at them bought them the day before my new ones showed up.

Now that I have had these two new saws for over 6 months I absolutely love them. They are so precise and rigid compared to the ones I had.

A workshop from down under.   A busy little shop this one, each time I get a new machine/tool I have to re-arrange things to fit it all in.   I picked up rheumatoid arthritis a few years ago and largely lost the use of my hands so the workshop doesn't see a lot of action anymore.   I like to go out there and dream of what could be though.   to help me out a little most of my hand tools hang from overhead racks now,  I still add to my collection tools that make things easier/possible for me to use.   I can't use a file anymore so I have two air finger files and 1 electric file, can't use a hammer anymore so I bought a bar bender, can't use a saw anymore so I bought a Milwaukee hackzall and jig saw, can't use an angle grinder too well either so I bought a belt grinder.   I've extended the handles on the pedestal drill, bandsaw, vices, chuck keys and so on to give me a little more purchase.   Next purchase will probably be a pan and box brake and I'm working on adding an electric auto feed to the lathe so I don't have to use the carriage wheel.

Nice shop you have there. I also have arthritis issues with my hands so know how you feel. Presently I'm renovating our future home to be as disabled friendly as possible, and that will carry over to the new garage / workshop as well. I've done a lot of filing over the years, and recently was able to find a great machine for my new shop. Have a search on line for "Die Filers", and check out Youtube for some videos on these machines. Although its bigger than a bench model, I believe this will be one of my most useful tools now that I'm retired. Here's a photo.

Nice opus die filer you have there Mike, I have the same one, one of those machines not used every day but really good when you do use them, not so easy to get hold of now, bit like shapers[you love'em or hate'em] youcould pick them up for around the 50 quid mark but they're going up in price now.
