I'm not sure what you mean by a cut off saw but if you're talking about an abrasive cut off saw, you'd be better off getting one of the many 5 x 6 metal cutting band saws. That's assuming you don't already have one.

My bad i meant band saw (like a Kalamazoo) we don't have one at work here we only have a GIANT Do ALL Scroll saw
Ed are you speaking of a small floor band saw or the hand held ? . Those work pretty good one of my coworkers brought one in when some dummy broke the switch on our saw was down for 2 months. The guys pulled out all the switches and didn't label anything . it was the e stop had like a 6 way switch config.
fathers day is comming up and heard Harbor freight is having a sale > I would be afraid to buy one of their models unless i know someone who has one and can give a good report.

Anyways i would like to get a Band saw that can cut some stock . (something a little bigger than a bread box ). Dont want a chop saw
Or somehow figure out what is best space with capable of cutting stock that i may get from scrap yard to make parts out of .
I have room for one floor saw but that it as ill be able to roll out side . I want to keep the front area of garage Open for future projects and assembly.
