My favorite is the diesel radiator and exhaust pipe for heating .

Can hardly wait to see what is used to address the cooling requirements.

Arvid, Vermont summers are probably similar to Minn, and I only run the gen for fun usually. the cinderblock house is wood sided and foam insulated on the outside and one wall is buried partially in hill, so it's actually cool in summer. The generator:




Tom, usable floor space is 6' by 6' because of the chimney taking up 2 ' . I'm thinking of breaking into it though and making a small built in forge/foundry, shop heater. We'll see how practical that seems when the rest of the shop is together.

Heat what is that? My shop used to be our hay barn. The walls are just slats on two sides. You guys are sissies! Here in the winter it doesn't often get below -10C in the shop. It is quite practical actually because when I pick up a metal tool it sticks to my hand and I don't drop it!

I have one also! I keep it set on free mode until people start to bother me and then I walk over and switch it to coin mode. Most take the hint and leave!

Well, BF, I've seen it -30C here, though that's the extreme. Still, I sure don't mind the heat in the shop now, since it costs little to be comfortable, sissy or not. 

Keeping other people out of a shop this small is easy....... you just stand in it!

My shop's pretty small too, but all it really lacks is room for a couch to nap on and then life would be good.

Had a down-and-out buddy living in it for 6 months (hobo bed on the floor, right in front of the mill) and had a heck of a time getting him to leave. Actually my wife did that chore for me...
