Bridgeport Handles
#1
Hi
Lads
The handles on my 626 mill are ok but I like the look and feel of Bridgeport style ones
I was given 2 last week (Thanks jb3cx)
The X axis was easy
The Y took a bit more thought
The mill has a DRO but I wanted to keep the original dial set up

Of course we will demand plenty of pictures when you build the buffer. Happyyes

John, any thoughts of putting the old hand wheel on your knee feed? I've seen how fast you can crank those handles so it may save you even more time. Chin

John, I agree with your decision to retain the dials. Ya never know when the DRO will Drop Right Out, mine did and I was still able to use the mill until I fixed the DRO.
As regards Willie's suggestion, I'd vote for putting efforts into a power knee lift, I love mine.

Have you seen how fast John can crank those handles yet Steve? Power lift? He don't need no stinking power lift! Big Grin

Me on the other hand, need all the help I can get. I went with both. Rotfl
And I agree. I made an adapter as well to keep my original dial. Smiley-eatdrink004

Ah, no Willie. Remember? I haven't been able to watch Johns tutorials due to the slow speed internet connection I have. Rotfl

John
Nice job John, [as we've come to expect from your stable] I like balanced ball handles myself, I have them on the x & y axis' on my miller & on the lathe for that matter.
