I could envision you making a similar machine, though it might not be made for firewood processing. Rather, yours would be task engineered to lop off the heads of local government officials.
Yikes

Speaking of which Pixman,  our daughter organized a press conference here at our place for her school.  The reason was because of the refugee problem here in Germany.

She wanted answers on where and what the Government was going to do and when, etc.  etc..    We had Mayors and state and local leaders in attendance.   She chaired the meeting.  Everything started out fine and then she asked a question to one official and his response went on and on.  She quietly called over one of our workers and whispered in her ear.   Off the worker goes and comes back a minute later and hands my daughter something.  Meanwhile the official is still going on and on.  My daughter stands up and places the object on the table in front of her.   The official stops talking and looks to see what she is doing.  She smiles and places a wind up three minute timer on the table.  Winds it up and looks at the official and smiles.  He starts in again and she stops him and tells him his three minutes are up!  Then she lays into the officials telling them that they want answers not long drawn out campaign speeches.  Her words exactly.  All the people except for the officials gave her a big round of applause.  From that moment on if an official got long winded she would reach out and put her hand on the timer and they would get the message.

After the meeting was over the official came over to me and started in on how our daughter was a little rude to have done what she did.   I just smiled at him and told him that I thought she was quite polite under the circumstances and would he have preferred that she came out and told him what everyone in the room was thinking, meaning he should sit down and shut the hell up and stop being  such a pompous ass.  The mayor nearly choked to death as he was standing very near to this exchange.

The press had a field day.

Sorry for the long winded response Greg!

Good for your daughter.

IMHO, this is one of the disconnects in modern governance -- the idea that they are public servants is utterly lost.

What I didn't mention is that my daughter is 13 years old and I think the politicians thought she was going to be a push over. Not!

It is Greg's fault. He is dragging his butt working on this project and we get bored and then all hell breaks loose. He needs to finish this processor and run some logs through it.

I used to live in the Sahara Forest before I moved to the Black Forest here in Germany.

Just to get you guys off politics for Ed.
I need a transfer case to drive the two pumps, which won't take a side load and the clutch for the saw.
This will have two shafts with a chain drive between them, the chain drive will step the 2800 rpm engine speed to 3600 for the saw clutch.
Here the welded up case is sitting on 3 points so as not to twist it while I flatten the mating surface where the cover which will carry the two other bearings bolts.

Being a steel weldament it loves to ring, couldn't use my indexable face mill, it sang and gave a glazed surface when it tried to cut it. Had to use a fly cutter, slow job taking light cuts to remove the .060 it needed to flatten it out.
Free advice is worth exactly what you payed for it.

Well looks like we'll need to find another project for the Wisconsin.
Big gloat here,
A chap I do some work for is rebuilding a 1928 Chev on the side, brought the spindles over for me to replace the king pin bushings. Asks how much, this is playing Kelly, I only charge for your work related stuff. So this morning he shows up with this old genset. It has a D600 Kubota engine in it. He figured the wood processor needed a diesel. He claims it ran perfectly but hasn't in about 20 years, been sitting in a shed.
