The Other Measuring Tools
OK, just ordered mine.  Vinny, many thanks for the link - I did a search on Amazon and they want $80 for the same tool.  Frankly, I would have paid that in a heartbeat and thought that I got a helluva bargain.  $35 is insane !!!

I think mine will reside on my coffee table 99.99% of the time (beside my Brunton Pocket Transit) but it looks like, when needed, it's going to be very handy.  This is the Brunton:

The only improvement I could ask for would be an adjustable level bubble.  I use the protractor head on my universal square quite a bit and it almost always entails zeroing the level bubble to something like a mill vise or a drill press table before setting or measuring an angle.

Amazon has several different 'brands' listed actually. You do have to pay attention to the material though. Some are stainless and some are carbon steel. Most of them are in the $27 - $29 range.

After I saw Willie's diagram, I ordered one too. Quite a bit cheaper on eBay.
