Nice job Dave. Is that MIG or stick welding?

Thanks guys, I cheated again
Last week I went to a place Artisan Academy they teach all the different types of welding, boiler making and a few other things. Companies send guys there to learn how to weld and get accredited (or whatever its called) Me being my normal cheeky self just needed someone to show me the right way I didnt want to spend 4 weeks there (or however long the courses are), just a quick in and out. The guy I met there ( a very nice guy by the way) said no problem, bring your welding machine, rods etc. and a few bits you want to weld, One point he did make was, I would find it easier to weld if I didnt wear bi-focals (too much head nodding) So today I arrived 9.30am, I was back home at 2 oclock. I have to say what an excellent teacher he is, extremely good. Didn't charge me so I took him for a pub lunch. Got home and did a couple of welds - Stick welding. Now that's what I call a good day DaveH

Thanks Mike,
It really was nice to have someone there to hold my hand, yep he actually holds your hand for the first few welds I got sick of weld/grind, weld/grind, weld/grind every weld I did. Occasionally a weld would seem to come right, but I never knew why DaveH
Great welds Dave, come to think of it, I too, weld better after a nice pub lunch.
