I have an old friend in Colorado that is a retired tool and die maker. Over the last 3 years he has been sending me "CARE" packages of tooling that he finds in his garage and no longer needs or uses. He has sent me fistfulls of end mills, reamers, tool bits and center drills. He has also sent me some calipers, micrometers, a surface gage, a sine bar and a planer gage among other things. Yesterday I received two boxes with the items shown below.
Here is the tooling. The prize is this Criterion 1 1/2 boring head and stubby boring bars. A set of counter bores. A 6 inch and 8 inch digital scale to attach to the mill for a digital readout. Various end mills including a 7/16" ball end mill. And lastly a four volume set of Ingenious Mechanisms from Industrial Press. Did I mention he is my best friend forever!

He is definitely a good old friend.
The design books look very interesting. I'll have to check them out. Oh, and by the way... Tom

Ed, nice addition. I need to add one to my mill. Where did you get it and how much?
JScott, that's quite a good friend and a deserved for it. The gem in my eyes is the boring bars that came with the Criterion boring head. Yes, the boring head is good, but it's so hard to find high quality brazed carbide bars like those. Thanks given by: EdK

Nice accoutrement Ed. I've been wanting one of those ever since I bought my mill. Thats only 12 or 13 year i guess
Free advice is worth exactly what you payed for it.
