My Nikcole insert does not sit in line or parallel with the tool holder either, like you i was thinking it was a dud.

I have had a little trouble with chatter too but also success so my story is the same as yours. 

I am waiting to purchase the threading bits to try them out, i am waiting on a silly cheap post on fle-bays to snatch them up like i did last time on some parting off inserts, I robbed they guy by paying $2.00 each for ten.

Nice find Darren.

We call them wigglers over here and they are nice, but not as accurate as the pin type edge finders. I use mine mostly for the point to pick up center punch marks or scribed lines, and for holding indicators.

A couple more items scratched off of the "wish" list. Some recent flea-bay steals.

1/2" thick parallels.
Adjustable parallels.
Automatic drill drift.
