Well it's not quite the same as my import dial indicator stand, but I guess it will do....

It is on a cheap import stand, which will be getting tune up. The threaded hole in the "centre" of the column isn't concentric to the outer diameter. The finish is pretty rough as well. I will ensure that the indicator is perpendicular to the surface of the base whenever I use it.

I've ordered a lifting lever from Mitutoyo ($1.49 +shipping) and now just have to work out what all the bells and whistles do
