Turned up a couple of bushes for a friend and then looked at the best way to pack a J series BP head for shipping cross country.  The back end is going to get cut off to save on space.  Once that is done the individual pieces will be bolted down and then boxed in.

Your friend certainly got his moneys worth out of those bushings!

What material did you use for the replacements? Looks good. Thumbsup

Nice job on laying out the Bridgeport parts too. Seems like I've seen something like that here before, except it was a much shorter trip. Big Grin

The bushes are brass but they will get him out of trouble until he can get some bronze for me to turn. They are a little longer so will give more contact area.

The head will be embarking on a 3418 km (2124 miles) road trip in a couple of days (hopefully)!

Just wait until they open it and realise that I substituted all the BP parts for old cement bags between taking the first and second photos. The look on their face will be priceless Rotfl

Spent the day cutting fire wood. Well running the processor and tractor at least. Will probably pay for it tomorrow, still had to pile all the product. Got carried away the back pile is 6 feet high, and the blocks are 24 inches long.
