I 3D printed a replacement drain down bung for the water wash part of a friends milking machine - the original had worn and striped threads over the years.

The thread is 19 tpi BSP so about 0.650" diameter

What are the threads like straight off the printer? Looking as clean as it does, I doubt you have run a tap over it.

Yes no dies used in this experiment !

I've been really impressed how it copes with fine threads - these next pictures are M9 x 1 mm pitch - part of my 'hydroponic pig cooler' set up that needed replacing

FINALLY, got the time to finish wiring the VFD. had to run about 20 feet of conduit to get 220v single phase over to it.
Bought the VFD from Automation Direct, great service, tech support answered a couple of questions (yes you can switch the output of the vfd as long as the output is off) before I ordered it. The manual was great, got everything set the first go around, except the jog function. Have a foot pedal wired in to have it run when the pedal is depressed, but it only ran at 6 Hz, Parameter 5:00 took care of that.

Drilled all the holes in my toolholders
   

Tapped them. This spiral point tap is my new favourite tool.
   

I put a ground finish on a couple of them and polished one. Now I'm going to have to grind them all.

Thanks for not pointing out that I have a nice finish on every non-functional surface. The dovetail and the tool seat look like they have been scratched out with a piece of broken concrete.
The surface grinder is fun to use to put on a nice finish but I'll have to acquire a bit more tooling (like a surface plate for one thing) and a heck of a lot more skill before I have a chance of really using it as a precision tool.
