Thanks Ed. I just wish I could remember to stop and take photos during the process because a picture is worth 1000 words.
A great many parts made on CNC mills, especially at my friend Russ' shop, are done by milling the full profile and top geometry features in the first setup on a taller piece of stock. The second op it usually just to mill the excess off the bottom, making the multiple pieces and sometime a second op on the same side once the overall thickness is down to size.
Evening chaps
Well tonight I finally took the plunge and made a start on sorting out the workshop I use for welding and casting ,Its become a bit of a dumping ground for ,ebay buys (fly press), half finished projects (cupola furnace) and gifted items (tool cutter grinder , well its rude to say no )
This shop needs a good sort out and a bit of a stream line , I cant even get to the casting bench DOH! , I also need the room for my next project , I picked up another lathe that needs a wee bit attention . So tonight's efforts did not make a dent lol , just cleared the stock from under my welding bench .
Oh happy days
Rob

JHohn (AKA doubleboost) Just curious, but why do you find it necessary to quote with repeat of all of the original poster's pics that appear in the immediately previous post?
Just seems to gobble up space on our beloved forum.

Hi Rob, looks like a good start to getting sorted out, it looks worse on a photo than in real life I think , unless you let it get even more messy than last time I saw it .
Keep up the good work
Cheers Mick
