Todays Project - What did you do today?

Greg, It's an "Alltrade" made in China. Although I have plenty of enemies, none are seeking a vise.

Well last fall when racing season ended we had a bunch of used Hoosier sprint car tires to dispose of. Rather than put them in the landfill I got thinking of something to do with them. Well here was one of my solutions.

Cut the sidewalls out of them and use the tread are for shop mats.

Here is a picture:        

Be sure to put the tread side down to keep the swarf out of the mat.

Tires are easy to come by, just find your local racer and he will be happy to give you all you need.

Good idea, but it looks like they might be a trip hazard (at least for klutzes like me). Is there any way you could stretch and heat them to make them stay flat?

I have had the mat down for only a week and it is getting flatter every day. I think if I give it some more time it will flatten out even more.

made this today a quick and dirty shelf bracket for a buddy of mine to I think replace a broken one in a travel trailer he's selling.

Spent a couple of days camping on an island in Centennial lake. Was a great break from the yard and only 20 minutes from home, with no cell coverage I might add.

No cell coverage areas are getting hard to find. There are a few around our place in the U.P., but not many.

You do know that cell phones come with a power button as standard equipment right?

Yes, but my wife insists that we take them into the forest. I prefer my .45, but that's another story.
