#1
hi all a bit off topic to start with went to the boot sale and i got a file card a small tap handle and two Jacobs chucks for £1.50 both chucks are hammered and will be gowning in the bin but i thought i wood post a haw to to tack them a part and to put them back together right put the jaws have way out i used a socket to press on the mane body of the chuck and used two preses of brass to press on the outer ring once off you will see the scroll ring this is in two parts on or near where the jaws go in to the body their sometimes stamped 1 to 3 in order you can tell witch jaw gos in witch hole by the end of the teeth cut in to the jaw if the chuck is not numbered just pop punch your own once a part give every thing a good scrub up i use engine oil on reassembly as before leave the jaws have way out and as before i used two pecec of brass to push the outer ring back on to the chuck body as i shed these chuck are us the smallest one is cracked and the larger one is just worn out so i did not go ott on the clening right pics
