I have a lot of friends in the trades. Eric Sanderson of Bryce Gear is one of them. This is a 1947 Fellows Gear Shapping Machine doing what it does best.

Looking good Bill.

Is it my imagination or have you snuck in a few new pics since the first go around?

On to the pump body. Layout was first. Then stack ready to cut. Stack mounted on back plate ready to center bore. Bore being cut. Center bore done. Offset changed and aessory gear hole cut. And last we line bore the gear shaft holes.

Next up was the OD turning to fit into the gear case. Back into the three jaw.

Gear mesh was good so now its on the the poskets for the gears themselves so it's back to the faceplate and adj. center arbor. Pockets are in only two parts of the pump body so a piece of wood was used to stop from hitting the backplate when boring. All went well and the last pic shows the gears installed.

It is at this point that I would caution anyone doing a build like this one. This is your last chance to stop. After this it starts to get really repititious. If you don't care for making a lot of an involved part you are in trouble. Let's just take the cylinders, 14 of them plus 1 set up piece, 15 t0 20 hours each.

This is not my first radial. I made as 18 cylinder before this one. It was no where near this complicated.

Nuff said here.

Thank you Dave and all. I hope to catch this up to where I actually am with this project in a week or so. So far you have seen a few hundred hours.
