Mr G,
Nay... what I'm getting is like a toy as compared to those many have in this forum.
The bugs are biting again. What am I to use to hold tools in the spindle to test out the machine tomorrow??? I've no MT2 collets or anything to use. Even if I run out to get a set now, I'll still not know the length I require for drawbar.
Sigh...

Wongster,
First order of business, tear it apart and clean it up good. You'll get to know it very well and know you'll have a clean mill to start out with. Then start thinking about the tooling you'll need. Go slow and think it through so you don't wast a bunch of money on tooling you'll never use.

Hi guys,
I'm reading through the manual online trying to absorb as much information as I can before its arrival tomorrow morning. I was looking at the part on installing "tools or tool holders with internal threads", it seems to suggest that I don't need a drawbar like my Sherline or even the Proxxon.
Can anyone take the trouble to verify for me by looking through the pics and short text from the extract?

Wong,
There's a drawbar of sorts. It's called the tool retaining/forcing screw. That's a different type of setup than most mills. It appears the MT tooling is held in the spindle using a two piece setup. One piece is first screwed into the MT tool and then that assembly is inserted into the spindle and screwed onto the tool retaining/forcing screw. Then it is snugged up using the Allen wrench from the top. At least that's how I'm reading the process is supposed to go according to the description.

Edit: after rereading the description of the drawbar setup I was mistaken. It's not a two piece setup like I had thought. It's just a different take on the drawbar concept.
