so...I lost my balls!! Yikes
I've got a few of these cheap chineseum 1605 ball nuts I'm using on my mill cnc conversion.
They come with a plain sleeve inserted into them to retain the balls. yet for some reason 17428  when I was installing one onto the screw the balls fell out.
the sleeve is just barely big enough to retain the balls, and its really thin plastic tubing that is easily deformed when handling the nut.
So I printed up an alternative that is more like the screw than a plain sleeve. This also is used as a tool to reload the balls much easier than "gluing" them in place with grease or whatever other process is typically used. I tried using the steel screw itself, but there is little to no clearance to be able to insert the balls. the plastic has enough compliance that you can "snap" the balls into the slot without fear of the others releasing.
A few minutes with a caliper and CAD and off to the printer...one hour to print...then all balls reloaded in less than 10 minutes Thumbsup

I also printed up some screw holders so I can chuck the screw in a collet to cut it and re-machine the end.

Got the Noga rotary deburring tool the other day so I needed to make a new holder to hold both tools.

Nothing special. Bought a set of imperial sockets so I needed a way to keep them organized in my tool box.

Got sick of the way I was storing my wire jumpers so I 3-D printed a hanging rack.  Big Grin
Will have to make another one to hold the rest.

I had a bunch of miscellaneous gauge pins sitting around in the zip lock bags they came in so I decided they needed a new home. I still need to make the cover for the box though.

My wife has knocked the box you made for me off of the table that hold my thread detective sets at least three times now. Not even a tiny crack to be found anywhere. That thing is KRAZY strong! Built like a tank.  Smiley-eatdrink004

I had two micrometers and a DTI stacked on a shelf. I got sick of playing "rotate the case" so I made a proper home for them. It just barely fit into the 3D printer in the Z axis.

I made a box for the vise jaw work stop that I made. It helps keep all of the pieces together. I have to cut the Allen wrenches shorter so they fit in the box.

I'm heading up to Minnesota in a week and a half to celebrate my oldest brother's 80th birthday. I bought him a nice pocket knife and had to make a decent case for it.
