You don't indicate just were in the US your are located. Machine tool pricing is very geographically linked. Upper plain states its a machine tool desert and priced accordingly. Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, etc MT's are easier to find. Try using Search Tempest with a 500 mile (one day trip) radius to see what you can locate. Also look into government auctions as you can find surplus university equipment with very little time on the machines.

$4500 and made in Italy. Don't know anything about the brand, but I've visited Italian machine tool makers and their equipment is comparable with German & Swiss equipment.

However it's already drawing a lot of attention. Wouldn't be surprised if it goes for more than the asking price. Clausings are very good lathes.
