LibreCAD squiggle trimming?

Uh-oh. The BS detector went off when using LibreCAD just now.

Draw a line 3/16" long and then dimension it - .0074" it says.
Info shows the length as .1875"

LibreCAD, it appears to be untrustworthy. I've tried this several times.

I found an oddity in "Current Document Preferences" - the scale was at .03892348943789 or something. Why, I have no idea.

I used librecad for a while and found it kind of klugy it is actually the bastard child of Qcad which you can get for linux but it costs 30$ IIRC I found it worth it.

On the other hand, I went from Qcad to LibreCAD... ?

I installed qcad yesterday and played around with it a bit. It definitely has advantages over the others I've tried, but I like the constraints that freecad has. Makes some placements easier. For some reason, tho, qcad will not remember the dimension settings. I set it to decimal, open a new drawing and it changes my preference back to engineering. If I wanted engineering, I would have selected it!

I probably shouldn't have been so emphatic as my experience with cad is limited and from a past life. So I will edit my thoughts and say that Qcad seemed much more friendly with my experience level.

I use QCAD to print on the Apple side of my computer. It won't even remember paper size Vinny. Have to set it every time.
