Setting Up My PM935 Mill

The way I have this figured, with the blizzard coming you will not venture out of the house tomorrow and will be forced to occupy your time with moving the rest of the mill into the basement.

I am 99.9% sure I will be phoning it in tomorrow.

I wish Arvid. I can connect remotely to my computer at work so no rest for the wicked I'm afraid.  

I've already sent an email to the other project members warning them I'd likely be working from home tomorrow.

Southwest of here major highways were closed due to blizzard conditions but here it turned out to not be all that bad. 25 - 35 mph winds and around 10 degrees F but no snow. Roads were dry so I drove in to the office. All in all a very depressing day.

I also went in to work but after the rush hour. About half way in the roads improved quite a bit and 169 was completely dry.

Wow!   It wasn't anywhere near that hot when I visited.

You guys think the casting is strong enough to take the weight of the head as it's lowered down the planks to the basement? I've got the lifting strap fed through the casting and the two ends will hook into the winch hook. The area circled in red in the second picture shows where in the casting it's looped through. That's where the motor and pulley normally reside.

Personally - I would go ahead with the setup you describe. It isn't all that much weight (based on my Kondia experience) and you are only talking about a minute or so in duration.
