I’ve always advocated uploading photos into the forum that you are using, as it means that as long as the forum exists the relevance remains. Oddly it was one issue that Rob and I crossed on. He hosted his own pictures then eventually deleted them as he regarded the forum as ephemeral and of passing interest whereas I regard my posts on various forums as material that can be searched by others (and indeed myself) as a source of information..most of my builds and repairs are posted on Madmodder and I often find myself reading my old posts to confirm a fact or figure. I do retain copies of all the photos but I don’t make them publicly available other than on a forum like this or Madmodder

I'm sorry to hear of Rob's passing. His metalwork was inspirational and I was sorry to see him leave this forum, he seemed to become impatient with the chatty social aspects that often wander off-topic; personally I find that a very positive aspect of the forum. Thanks for shedding light on why so many older photos have become invisible, I also often use my own and others' old posts as a reference.

I hadn't heard he passed either. He did upload some pics to the forum, I've seen them occasionally.
