Hello f350ca. The holders are clamped with cam operated grooved pistons that fit into a t slot on each holder. When you turn the cam bolt it pulls the holder against the body on v ways. I think I would be lucky to find just the right size of bushing and that would require a trip to the metal supermarket, and I hate that place. WAAAY too expensive....

As Ken said, the key may be getting the tool on centre height.

I will be installing some hardwood and ceramic floor, so this project will be on hold for a couple of weeks. Wish me luck.

Just had another look through this thread and I have to agree that that toolpost is way too big for that lathe. You should take it off carefully, put it in a sturdy box and send it to me I'd even be prepared to offer my slow-change toolpost in exchange.

Just a quick update in case you thought I disappeared. I took a picture of the toolpost with the holder flush with the bottom of the body. There is over 1/4 inch before the center.



I also received the parts for the CT1440G from Fred at Ackhurst in BC (Cantek Dealer). They are definitely the correct parts. I just ended up ordering the cross slide leadscrew and nut instead of having Pixman make one. I think he could be too busy with his own stuff anyway.



But before I can do any fun, I have to deal with this:



My 2 week estimation was 2 months ago! So much for that. At the rate I'm going it could be another month before I can get to the lathe. Anyway take care and I'll start posting when I can.

Now what material of choice is to go down on that floor?

Since it's going to be his new shop, I'd say something rubberized except where the machines will be.

Umm...I don't think the prefinished wood flooring in the packages is for a shop where a living or dining room ought to be. Or, I wouldn't want such artwork on the walls of MY shop!
