Hope 3400 RPM motors are cheaper there then they are here.

The sliding bar is 1.5 x 1.5" .......... 38mm square, 35mm square should be OK.

Nothing is cheaper here than the US. ........ Well gold is Big Grin  that's about all.

Al,
I have seen the 'no weld grinder' and you are right it is ugly Big Grin  although I have to say most of the belt grinders even the commercial ones wouldn't win a "pretty competition" Big Grin  Also commercial belt grinders use only a small amount of welding in their fabrication, whereas home built are mostly welded.

I wouldn't just only sell the plans ... too easily copied. Selling kits (with the plans and instructions) is a better way to go (I think).
There are lots of hobbyist who don't want to build it themselves and lots that do. Big Grin  Some won't mind a bit of welding, some won't want to weld.
Catering for everyone can be difficult (if not impossible) but most guys like the idea of having a choice Thumbsup .

I shall definitely going the VFD route, makes it more versatile for stock removal, fine finish, deburring and for aluminium, steel and my favorite material of the month stainless steel. Of course it does up the cost some what. Cool

Yes, similar to Grinder in a Box, but with more sophisticated accessories, and more tool holding options.

Thanks for your feedback, Dave! I agree about the ease of copying. There needs to be hardware which adds value to the plans.

Building your own belt grinder is not very hard actually. Here is a link to a bunch of different grinders.

For some reason I have found this belt grinder extremely frustrating - whether because I can't seem to find the material size I want or some other reason I don't know.
I'll buy one and grind something that will make me feel better Thumbsup

Shop #1. It will take  about 4 weeks to make you one. 17428 17428 17428
Shop #2. Sorry no stock should have stock end of July. Jawdrop Jawdrop Jawdrop We do have stock of a self build one (promising I thought) but we don't have any 'wheels' for it. ........... When do you expect the wheels "don't know" ........... can't you ask your supplier "he doesn't know"

Better off to make my own. Bash
Now where is that guy aRM he's a knife grinder I'll ask him where he got his from. (This is the best idea I've had all week)

Dave,

Contact the guy that sells the grinder in a box. He says he ships international. It wouldn't hurt to get a quote from him. Smiley-gen163
