5 Cylinder Radial
I have managed to put together another slide show video.

It gives a bit more information on the build.

My apologies for not keeping up with this thread.
however the situation to date is that i cut the first accessory shaft gear and found that the cutter was marked No 5 was in fact a No 7
This rather changed things as i now must wait for the replacement. The vendor suddenly ran out of stock??
So i have continued with  the other sections at the rear of the case.

Further work has also been done on the belt sprockets using the faulty accessory shaft as a dummy.
The slackness of the belt is due to the absence of the cylinder head & cylinder base gaskets also the position of the belt pensioner has yet to be determined, but over all I am very happy with the result.

Hi Tom the 25 T gear came out with pointy teeth .

So I rummaged is the scrap box, found a piece of aluminium and cut a perfect
16t gear on it I was not a happy bunny.

Further work has now been done on the back plate, the seating's for the accessory shaft  bearings have been machined so the plate can now be fitted with the dummy shaft.
The flanges for the camshaft sprocket have been made, the outer one is thicker to accommodate  the small magnet for the ignition trigger. this flange can be rotated independently to adjust the ignition timing for that individual cylinder.
With a temporary head gasket of the correct thickness added the belt tension now looks a lot better.

The latest work.
I made a simple engine stand  so it is now possible to assemble  the engine to keep most of the parts in one place.
Further work has been done,  the top fins on the remaining heads and cam boxes are nearly done. and i have tapped some of the threads in the casing so the assembly holds together, Just the thought of braking a tap in the case gives me goose bumps.
So this is what it looks like now.

After you get the radial built, how about an engine stand.

Just perhaps a semi scale spirit of St Louis .  Slab sided, easy to make from foam sheet, a good load carrier at slow speed .!!!!

But it has to run yet, a long while to go.
No more dreams.
