Grinding Wheels for Stainless
#1
Hi,
Do any of you use grinding wheels specifically made for grinding stainless steel?  Or do you just use what you have?

Don't do a lot of stainless, and when I do its smaller stuff, a flap disk on the angle grinder does a nice job of cleaning and buffing out my rough welds.

I've used the same type of wheels and discs for SS but I've kept them dedicated to the SS. Abrasives used on ferrous metals will contaminate the SS.

I've always used what I have and accept the contamination. I have some new flap discs so I'll use them  Thumbsup
Thank you guys Smile

Good point Steve, I try to keep the ones I use on aluminum separate. By the way Canadian tire often puts packages of them on sale, end up being about $2 each.
