Thanks Rob, that's great of you and the granddaughter to take time to take photos of the sea coal and post them..... By your pictures it looks like you have a beautiful coastline and wonderful place to wander and find interesting things. Have you ever found anything of value or of interest washed up on shore?

Thanks again for the photos of the seacoal, I'm going to save them, they are the best examples of seacoal I have found on the interweb.

Hi Tackit ,

Yer in a short section of cost we have sea cliffs to sand dunes ,so there is always something to do . Never found much off any value , I also scuba dived the NE coast a fair bit ,and found nowt LOL just rusty wrecks and crabs .

If you would prefer the original photos without the Wilson blurb on the bottom lets no and I can Email them to you .

So have you used your forge yet ?

You have a very interesting and full life Rob, good for you.

Rob sadly I haven't fired it up yet , I have been doing one project after another the last couple of years, between making project sketches and ordering materials it slips my mind..... This fall when the heat off the forge will be welcome I plan on getting started with it....

I'm interested in the Japanese style of blacksmithing, this winter I'm going to study it and next spring see if I can produce tongs something close to theirs.

Check these beautifully done Japanese forge tools out, they are so beautifully I don't think I could stick them in a hot forge.

i no that cost line brill work as per rob diving for crabs well Thar's a thing and her is me thinking you is a up standing sort of chap or I'm i on the wrong type of crabs

a bit off tropic but can remember sea coal bin rather a common site on the north est cost line as their was a lot of coal mining wast was dumped at sea

I wish I had a way to scoop some up, it's supposed to burn really hot and clean, leaving only a small amount of ash in fireplaces.
