Perhaps finding a link to the manual you have or scanning yours would be more useful than a generic one, and would save you and others time and frustration.
I'm not sure I would like to run any of my motors at almost double their speed.

As I mentioned, I'd go for about 50% overdrive at max.

I looked at one some time ago. They advertise VFD rated 3 phase motors, would they be designed to run over they're rated 60 Hz speed.
Free advice is worth exactly what you payed for it.

Ed what I would like to do is set the parameters for maximum output frequency at around 90 Hz.
I also wonder if that would make full sweep of the pot on the face of my VFD, it presently reaches 90 Hz. with about only 1/4 of it's rotation.

Based on the link to the manual you posted, you would need to re-program
parameter (code) P005 to 90. (Max operating frequency.) It might not top out your control knob completely, but it should be close.
I would use anything above your normal line frequency (50/60 Hz?) sparingly if you have a general 3-phase motor. AFAIK, only motors rated for inverter/vector duty are built for continuous use when they are over clocked.

Thanks Willie but what I really need to know is HOW to re-program parameter (code) P005 to 90. I really sorta need to be shown what keys to press and the order in which they should be pressed.
I know it sounds wimpy but I do NOT want to let out any magic smoke.
Our line frequency is 60Hz.
Most of my milling is done sparingly, there are no long production runs and I don't foresee overspeeding the motor on a regular basis.
I appreciate the patience shown by all who are trying to help me.

I don't have a clue of how to decipher those instructions either Steve. But to give it my best GUESS - maybe power it up, push PROGRAM, then push SHIFT to cycle through the parameters until P005 comes up on the display?
Then use the up/down arrows to get to your 90 HZ and then push ENTER to save your setting? Again I'm just guessing. You might just have to try different combinations to figure out how to select the different codes first and then how to increase / increase the settings.
I'm just glad I went with a Hitachi VFD. It still took me awhile to figure out all the settings, but at least the instructions made a lot more sense.
