I made one from a kit a few years ago. Quite handy for cleaning up internal keyways. Andrew you can make your own files, snap the tang end off and grind the other end down to where it will fit in a piece of tubing, JB Weld the new tang into the tubing, then chuck the file and turn the sleeve to fit your jaws.

And then there were 2 die filers....
Picked up a Butterfly die filer a few weeks ago. It is mostly back together, just need to strip and repaint the motor housing. This one will most likely be going to live at a friends place when it is done! Andrew

Great looking machine Andrew, I just missed one a few years ago at the Barrie Flea Market, guy ahead of me bought it for $25.00

hi just my bit i have seen planes on the net wear you convert a old side valve engine in to a die filer the engine type is the ones you get on grass cutters all you do is strip them out keep the piston put something on the top of the piston to hold the file mack a base plat up mack sum stand offs and bolt that on to the top where the cylinder head once was
