An easy project that you use daily
#1
Ok it's not really a project but I just cut about half the length of the bristles off the small painters brush (about 1-1.5" wide) I use for brushing off chips from the lathe mill etc and was amazed at how much better it works? No more chips caught up in the brush and it does a way better job of cleaning the ways and t-slots (pun intended). I have 5-6 of these brushes in the shop and they all got a quick haircut after trying the first one.

I do that with acid brushes as well. They get a lot more aggressive with short bristles.

Having just bought a box of 50 chip brushes (some of which I gave to Mayhem), I think I can afford to try this and if I don't care for the results...I've got backup!

Thanks for the tip! (Said the prostitute to the leper.)

Great idea. I'll try it.
If it's crazy but it works, it's not crazy.
