Mine got away - a Van Norman #12. The widow lady thought she had a pot of gold out in her husband's shop (asking $1000 for an imported drill press that cost $300 new, an underdrive South Bend Model A for $10K, that sort of thing).

I offered her $500 for the mill, but she went and got me a cup of coffee instead. I forgot to pay her for the coffee. The cops are probably looking for me now.

Lol , You have me laughing here Sunset Big Grin.............. been in the same situation , pointless trying to tell them its not worth what they think as it comes over you are trying to con them, all you can do is leave your number and when reality eventually hits home you might get a call Smile
As far as the coffee incident ........ keep your head down for a few weeks and hopefully the police might get more important things to do in the meanwhile Rotfl ............

Cheers Mick.

That's a heck of a power feed hanging off of the left side of the Clausing.

Hello all,
I'm new to metal working and I am just in the early phase of tooling and modding. I have a HF 7x10 lathe and a HF x2. The lathe has been torn down, de-burred, greased and adjusted as well as adding a dro. Its working quite well. The x2 has had the same treatment as well as relocating the controls, I ordered a belt drive kit (I have stripped all of the plastic gears out of it so it is not functional until the belt drive kit arrives) and I will be taking a stab at my version of a quick change drawbar. Im still awaiting the delivery of my TTS tooling.

Here are a few pics.
