No worries Greg! I envy the stuff you create. All my creative juice was spent taking hundreds of thousands of photos over the years. Nothing to show for it except walls thick with art.

I do like the stuff though and get as many compliments on it as you do you craftsmanship. It just doesn't play well here.

You know how it goes Ken, with out a picture it never happened, if I can post wood stuff you can do art. Don't think you'll find an audience with a wider range of interests anywhere else.

Thanks Ed. I purchased both from Matt as a package deal at the same time. I received my lathe just a few weeks ahead of the mill last year.

I'm curious about the chuck on there, it looks rather unusual. Why is it so "thick" from the spindle mount out to the face of it? I can't recall ever seeing one like it.

The chuck is a Gator (by Fuerda) 6-jaw Set-Tru style. Great chuck, I love it.

That looks like a fairly beefy lathe. What size is it? 14x40 maybe?

It's 13x40. Plenty big for everything I do. I have a 5C collet attachment & digital readout that make it handy.

It's called the GHB1340. I take that to mean Geared Head Bench 13" x 40". It's supposed to be the largest bench lathe Jet made.
It does have the ability to remove the ways piece below the chuck to gain a bit more swing. Could probably swing 14" then. 
The control layout works for me. 
I remember running a French lathe years ago the the x & y travel handles were reversed from every other lathe I had ever run. It was a strong lathe with lots of HP, but just a PITA to operate.
