So this is like a Unimat on steroids?

The first machining job I ever held was using a Maximat, so I know them well. It was unique to me because I had never seen a machine with metric dials. It looks like you got a nice selection of tooling with it.

I have been lurking here without posting much. Here is my CanTek branded 14 X 40 lathe. I bought it from a fellow who owns a furniture manufacturing business. It was caked in oil, sawdust and the spray-on contact cement they use to glue upholstery foam in place. After many hours of cleaning it looks much better, sorry I ddn't take any "before" pictures. I am a rookie hobby machinist so I'm learing lots from the rest of you guys here.

That lathe was obviously made by the same manufacturer that made my lathe. Everything to the right of the headstock looks identical to my lathe.

EdK, it looks like your lathe is a new and improved version with a fully enclosed quick-change gear box and oil bath in the carriage. I have to give all those parts a squirt of oil each time I use may lathe. I own a Millermatic 180 mig welder too LOL.
