Uh, Dave, I don't see any connection to this thread. To whom are you directing your query?
Busy Bee 12-36 lathe, Busy Bee Mill drill, Busy Bee 4x6 bandsaw, Homemade 9x17 bandsaw, Ad infinitum.

Hi
Dave
My 626 mill came with a Newall DRO
It has been nothing but problems (great when it works)

I installed DRO on my clone, and have done a few other places. I chose Mitutoyo for my mill. Easy to install, but it wasn't my first. It is not a fancy one with all the built in calculators. Well, as far as I know, anyway. I never use it for anything but linear movement.

You can't go wrong with anything Mitutoyo. I'm a big fan of just about anything Mitutoyo.

John,

I know the main thing about Newall scales - they are very expensive.

I had an issue with one of the scales, and I needed it running at all times, so I ordered a new one overnight. Plenty expensive, but in the meantime, I opened it up and repaired it. It was what I thought to be a temporary repair, so I kept the new one. That was about 12 years ago. The new one is still in the box. Maybe I should get a short one and a box for another machine. It doesn't look like I will need it for anything else.
