I'm trying to find one to add to the ones that I have that is a key wind. the one in that started this thread is a 1888 lever set stem wind one, I had to take the original movement out till I can get parts to fix it with one of the jewels on the fourth wheel is busted.
if you have a photo I would be interested in seeing it watches and clocks have always fascinated me. David Allen

You ask, you get. Right is the Elgin. The wind up is a "A&U Bourquin" 2nd pic is the inside of the windup.

A friend of mine is a Civil War collector and is always on the lookout for key wind watches. They are scarce as hens teeth around here.

there's a fair amount of them around the hard part is finding one that still runs, heck I see watches from the late 1700's on ebay not regular but often enough that a person if he was of a mind to could buy one, some of them are still running.
nice couple of watches there Bill the Elgin looks like about a 16 and the A&U it French or Swiss. David
