This whole Boring Head sans screws will have been made from scrap. The keeper blank (in the arrows) is made from an old gear blank. It measures .500X.303X.125.

The adjustment assembly (Brains) are finished and installed. Smooth as a goose. The SHCS in the front is my spare.

grat work bill but i wood of mad it out of stanles steel rather than brass looking fowerd to see it at work

I only used Brass because I had it ready to go to the scrap yard. The original was made from 12L14. SS would make a very strong one.

I was asked elsewhere how the groove was made in the SHCS. So here goes.
You don't want to damage those fine threads. They will surely mess up the nut if you don't see it. I made a threaded arbor for the thread and a disc arbor to hold the head. "Billy G" |
