I use the Motorex Chain lube I have hanging around from my motorcycle, for open gears. For rust preventive coating I have a can of the Sprayon 711 stuff. At about $5.00 a can I can afford to use it liberally.

These threads are like getting onto car/truck enthusiast sites and asking about "what oil, filter, tire, battery" is best.

I have been a lifetime AMSOIL dealer using my wifes name since about 1975, I used to use and sell lots of their products then they came up with their commercial program and would sell to my customers cheaper than I could buy it myself, that was the end of my Amsoil days especially whenb they have now taken a backseat to most of the other mfrs. Back in the late 60 an STP dealer in ALBERTA took a VW bug 1600 cc engine and filled it with STP and drove itg 3 hours from Calgqry to Edmonton, once there he pulled the drain plug dropping the entire contents and drove the return trip to CALGARY without anything in the crankcase with no engine damage. STP in my honest opinion, not nocking you or deflaming STP can keep their snake oils, I have 4 million KM on the cat in my big truck, it has been in framed 2 times, I change the oil once a year, run a centrifuge oil cleaner. It has never seen a drop of any additive except STP. " go figure " tom
