Hi Lads
I made a few steel moulding flasks for my foundry set up a few years ago ,, in the past i have always used wood flasks , these are fine , but can were out quickly ,and do burn when you have a spill .![Slaphead Slaphead](http://www.metalworkingfun.com/images/smilies/slaphead.gif)
As with nearly all of my projects they come about due to getting some free material
. I scrounged a few 1/8" x 4 1/4" steel off cuts from a customer i was doing a bit work for .

First off i need to form a bead up the centre of the strips so that the sand will have something to key to , so i came up with a quick and dirty swag tool for my home built shop press .

The lengths were fead through 6" at a time to form the bead.

Next up ,, four bits of 4" steel bar were tack welded to the welding bench to form a bending fixture .

Using oxy gear the bends were heated and bent .

The overlap was then trimmed and welded.
