Would you all take a look at these two lathes and post what you think. First one,  jazzed by the size of the chip, video on bottom right side of page.

This is the second contender, the one cross feed capable.

They are 700 dollars apart, that is a small difference.

So let er rip ..........

Thanks in advance,

I'd get the 1127 if it was me, to many reasons to list why, spindle bore being top of the list

Definitely the 1127. It has longitudinal feed via a real feed rod rather than using the half nuts like the 1030 uses. Smiley-gen163
The 1127 comes with a nice wedge type QCTP set so that's also a nice plus. It's an option for the 1030.

+1 to all of the above. Another vote for the 1127.

Spindle bore.
Feed rod.
Tool post.

Pretty much the same set-up I have on my lathe, so maybe I'm biased... Big Grin

And here's yet another vote for the 1127. That 1030 reminds me too much of a mini lathe.

Its not a Monarch 10EE, but the 1127 is very usable.

Opinions, right?

3-bolt direct mount spindle? Really?
No power cross feed? Really?
Calling a 1-1/2" bore "big"? Really?

Sorry.

I like the fact it has a separate drive for the feed, your not relying on the lead screw for carriage motion, unless your threading.
