So this is like a Unimat on steroids?
The first machining job I ever held was using a Maximat, so I know them well. It was unique to me because I had never seen a machine with metric dials. It looks like you got a nice selection of tooling with it. Tom

I have been lurking here without posting much. Here is my CanTek branded 14 X 40 lathe. I bought it from a fellow who owns a furniture manufacturing business. It was caked in oil, sawdust and the spray-on contact cement they use to glue upholstery foam in place. After many hours of cleaning it looks much better, sorry I ddn't take any "before" pictures. I am a rookie hobby machinist so I'm learing lots from the rest of you guys here.

Nice looking lathe.
Don't worry about lurking or being a rookie - we all learn from each others contributions. I'm only a novice as well, so anything you post is going to be of some interest.

Thanks Mayhem!
EdK, it looks like your lathe is a new and improved version with a fully enclosed quick-change gear box and oil bath in the carriage. I have to give all those parts a squirt of oil each time I use may lathe. I own a Millermatic 180 mig welder too LOL. John
