My little fab job - ETC57 - 07-09-2012 Went camping for the week of the 4th, but needed to fix up some new steps for the camper first. I had some folding steps but by them self they were to short, so I went to the scrap been and got started. [attachment=2332] [attachment=2333] [attachment=2334] First some brackets welded to the bumper for mounting to. [attachment=2335] [attachment=2336] Next some risers to weld a step to and hang the folding steps from. [attachment=2337] [attachment=2338] Sorry didn't get pics of the forming of the step but with no metal brake, it was a sharp steel table edge some heat, clamps, a piece of angle iron and a hammer. [attachment=2340] [attachment=2341] [attachment=2342] [attachment=2343] [attachment=2344] I then drilled some holes in the step to spot weld it to the risers. [attachment=2345] [attachment=2346] Now I have a set of steps for the camper that are safe and easy to use. [attachment=2347] [attachment=2348] [attachment=2349] [attachment=2350] [attachment=2351] The best part is it all comes off with four bolts! [attachment=2352] Jerry. RE: My little fab job - ETC57 - 07-09-2012 Ok so I have no idea where my pics went??? [attachment=2353] [attachment=2354] [attachment=2355] [attachment=2356] [attachment=2357] [attachment=2358] [attachment=2360] [attachment=2361] And now you have the rest of the story! I'm painting this week. Jerry. RE: My little fab job - Highpower - 07-09-2012 Nice job on forming that channel by hand Jerry! How come you didn't use diamond plate for that top step?
