Rob,
Did you make the one piece gear using the shaper or the lathe? I can't tell by the picture but it looks like it's chucked up in the lathe, unless you have a fixture on your shaper for mounting the chuck.

Another awesome job Rob, that lathe will be better than new. I always got the impression that Churchills were good lathes, is it just the Cub that was poor build quality, or do you just thing this one has been badly treated?

Hi Ed
I machined the gear teeth on the shaper , mounting the dividing head needed me to make a table attachment .
welded up a bit 3/4 plate .

, did the job a charm , I now have a different shaper so I need to make another mount for the dividing head , I tried to sell the Alba shaper , had it up for sale for the princely sum of ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,wait for it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,£45 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and got nothing but grief/idiots , so I recycled it .
turned the box into a cracking box angle plate .

Kept the brooks motor ,pulleys and lead screws ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and scrapped the rest and the moral is recycling is much less hassle
Anyway I have gone
, went to see the bearing man today 
, hens teeth , rocking horse ***** and other sayings were banded about , lots of cash ,will have to be made and min order of 50 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,loonacy

Hi Phil
I think there other machines where well made ,grinders and the likes , just the CUB Mk3 the one I have was made by the apprentices , ( according to the internet ) ,and it shows

Hi Rob, good to see you back on the Cub, that bearing has past its best it's safe to say. Hope your plan works out as having 49 spare bearings and no money does not seem like a good way to go lol.

I have turned queit a few parts with that slightly worn bearing and got good accurate results.

I had a feeling the bearing may have been a none starter being that the lathe is nearly 70 years old , So,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I picked up a couple of TR bearings today
